Power Pac & Party Time Enterprises in Klamath Falls, OR has two stores, an equipment rental store and a party store, on the same site. Both, according to company vice president Jeff Mauch, have experienced a vast improvement in sales over the last couple years.
“Our party store is seasonal,” said Mauch. “Right now, it’s graduation season and the store’s very busy. Not to say our heavy equipment rental is lagging far behind. There’s been a definite increase in commercial construction, including an uptick in renting aerials and reach forklifts. In fact, we’re currently in the market to add more reach equipment to our inventory.
Mauch is safety coordinator for aerials. He noted the company offers customers certification courses on aerial equipment, something that has become more convenient for them thanks to on-line courses. The hands-on part of the certification is still completed at the store.
“All our employees are also certified to operate this equipment,” Mauch added, ‘and we hold company-wide safety meetings the third Friday of every month.” This, he admitted, takes a special commitment since time is at a premium during the busy season.”
Power Pac & Party Time has 12 full-time and two part-time employees, some of whom are cross-trained to work in both sides of the business.
