Frequently Asked Questions to PACER Award

1.     How do I submit a nomination?

CLICK HERE and complete the electronic nomination form. All applications must be submitted electronically. Applications emailed to ForConstructionPros' staff or submitted through social media channels will not be considered.

2.     Can I nominate myself?

Yes, absolutely. You are your best advocate.

3.    Can I submit a nomination for a colleague or a customer?

Yes, absolutely.

4.  Who is eligible?

Executives, owner/operators, managers, workers and more from all facets of the construction space, including manufacturers, distributors, contractors, end users, dealers/rental companies. It could be a contractor nominating an employee. It could be an OEM nominating a customer. It could be a dealer nominating a customer. It could be a manufacturer nominating someone from within their own organization. If the nominee works in the heavy construction, asphalt, concrete, pavement maintenance and rental industries, he/she is eligible.

5.      How long should my responses be?

There is no word count or character limit to some of the responses. In fact, the more information, the better. Submissions that tell a story and detail the journey the nominee has taken to get to this current stage in his/her career are encouraged.

6.      Is there a limit to the number of nominations I can submit?

There are four categories to choose from. Limit one category per nominee. Limit up to five nominees from the same company. Those submissions for the same person with multiple categories will be disqualified. Those submissions for more than five nominees per company could result in disqualification.

7.    Is there a ratio of submissions vs. winners?

No. We do not place a minimum or maximum on the number of winners for this award. We honor those individuals who can clearly and thoroughly detail their journey, their achievements, etc.

8. If I submit multiple applications for the same nominee, will that increase the chances of that nominee winning?

No. In fact, submitting multiple applications for the same nominee could actually hurt the chances of that nominee winning. We suggest companies communicate internally to discuss the up to five selected nominees and submit three outstanding applications.

9.    How do you determine a winner from the submission?

Submissions must tell a story; they must detail the journey the nominee has taken to get to this current stage in his/her career. The more information, the better. Those submissions with one-sentence answers or no examples will not be considered.

Winners ARE NOT determined based on relationship with ForConstructionPros.com and its affiliate brands, Equipment Today; Asphalt Contractor; Rental; Concrete Contractor; and Pavement Maintenance & ReconstructionWinners ARE ALSO NOT determined based on their advertising with ForConstructionPros.com and its affiliate brands, Equipment Today; Asphalt Contractor; Rental; Concrete Contractor; and Pavement Maintenance & Reconstruction. Nominee names and company names are hidden in the vetting process; ForConstructionPros' editorial staff vets based on the submission itself, which is why telling a story and providing clear examples is imperative to determining winners vs. non-winners.

10.     What is the entry fee?

There is a $99 application fee due at time of submission; this fee includes access to the logo license should you win. CLICK HERE if you want to pay for the submission before completing the application. Those applications submitted without paying the entry will not be considered.

11.      I submitted my nomination. What’s next?

Thank you for submitting your nomination. Now we wait until submissions close before we can begin the vetting process. Please allow up to 2-3 weeks for the vetting process before we can begin notifying winners.

12.      How will I know if I won?

After submissions close and winners have been selected, both winners and the person submitting the nomination will receive an email with additional instructions, embargo information, etc. Please allow up to 2-3 weeks after the submission close date.

13.      Can I make changes to the nomination after I hit submit?

No, unfortunately you cannot make edits or changes to the nomination after it’s been submitted electronically.

14.      Do I need to submit logos, headshots or anything at time of submission?

There will be places throughout the submission process to upload nominee's headshots and company logo, however none of them are mandatory to complete the submission.

15.    How is my submission judged?

Vetting of the submissions is based on the ability to outline in detail the specifics of the nominee's achievements and efforts. Those submissions lacking specifics may not be considered. Case in point: The more information, the better. Winners ARE NOT determined based on relationship with ForConstructionPros.com and its affiliate brands, Pavement Maintenance & ReconstructionWinners ARE ALSO NOT determined based on their advertising with ForConstructionPros.com and its affiliate brands, Equipment Today; Asphalt Contractor; Rental; Concrete Contractor; and Pavement Maintenance & Reconstruction.

16. What is the logo license?

The logo license gives you unlimited rights and full access to include, share and embed the award logo anywhere, everywhere at all times. Sharing the award logo without purchasing a logo license will result in IP theft.

17.  I want to submit a nomination, but the submission date is closed. Can I still submit a nomination?

No, we do not accept any past due submissions. Once the deadline has passed, nominations are closed.

18.  What if my submission doesn’t win, or my entry isn’t eligible.

If you think your submission may not be eligible, please read through the criteria or email Content Director Marina Mayer at [email protected]. Otherwise, if you do not win, there's always next year.
